The situation
Road condition lives in crews' heads and residents' complaint calls. When council asks "how bad are the roads, really?" the honest answer is an anecdote, and grant applications lean on estimates.
What we built
A sensor unit that mounts on a vehicle and detects road impacts while driving, paired with a phone app that captures, locates, and uploads events. No new routes, no new habits: the data collects itself on the drives that already happen.
What it changes
Road damage becomes a map with dates and severity instead of a feeling. Patch season gets a priority list, council gets evidence, and grant applications get data instead of adjectives.
